Tsunami Vigil & Art Sale

TGIP hosted a downtown vigil at the Fairmount Avenue Elementary School, which was then followed by an art sale fundraiser offered by Mr. Michael Pilato, who is a local mural artist. He contributed 50 mural prints in order to help purchase boats for the tsunami regions in need of fishing boats.

 

 

 

During this event Honorable Lynn Herman, Representative, presented a copy of the Pennsylvania House Resolution, expressing the sympathies of the Pennsylvania residents and complementing the community leaders in Happy Valley for their local tsunami relief efforts.

 

February 21

 

 

TGIP Meeting

TGIP local business partnership task force established at this meeting, which included Jeff Kern, Paul Ruskin, Padma Karanuratne, and Dr. Bakker.  The task force decided to contact Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka.

 February 28

School Partnership & Pen Pal Project

 

Mr. Michael Pilato and Dr. UB Bakker gave a presentation at the Gray's Woods Elementary School in order to start a Tsunami Pen Pal Club at this school.
